Mentorship

One of the goals of the UNBC Fish and Wildlife Student Chapter of the Wildlife Society is for professional advancement of our members. Each year, the Student Chapter has run events preparing students for summer jobs (panelists include students and various potential employers) and graduate school (panelists made up of faculty and current graduate students). We have recently expanded these mentoring activities to include developing a mentoring system that will help student members with their academic and future professional careers.  UNBC students wishing to take advantage of the Student Chapter mentoring system can submit their question or application form to tws@unbc.ca.  As outlined below, the question is either referred to a UNBC Wildlife and Fisheries Faculty member or the questions on the application form are used to assign the student to a specific mentor who might be a senior UNBC Undergraduate student, a UNBC Graduate Student, a UNBC Alumni Member, or the student will be referred to the TWS Mentoring program.

If you are interested in participating in the Student Chapter Mentoring program (with a question, as a Mentee or as a Mentor) please contact tws@unbc.ca.  Those students wishing to be assigned a mentor should complete an application form and submit the completed form to tws@unbc.ca indicating “mentoring” in the subject line.
