Rocky Mountain Goat Alliance Talk
October 29

Kendrick Chittock is a conservationist, photographer, and writer and serves as the Operations Director for the Rocky Mountain Goat Alliance. At RMGA, Kendrick carries out the priorities of the Board of Directors, facilitates the Science and Conservation Committee, and handles other non-profit responsibilities such as fundraising and membership. His photography and writing have been published in various outdoor magazines such as Gray’s Sporting Journal and The Fly Fish Journal, and he writes weekly and shares photographs on his substack, AFIELD Notes.

Wolverine Biologist Talk
November 4

Doris Hausleitner is an instructor at Selkirk College, and a consulting wildlife biologist. She has studied a variety of species at risk but will be delivering a talk about wolverine.  Doris has been studying wolverine for almost 15 years and together with the Wolverine Watch team has brought wolverine science to decision-makers and has been instrumental in some hands-on conservation in the province.

Kennedy Siding Caribou Herd

We had two great days of visiting with the Kennedy Siding Caribou Herd and hearing from some very knowledgeable experts about caribou behaviors and the supplemental feeding program.

Wildlife Photography Contest

So many amazing wildlife photos were submitted. Year after year the photos just get better and better. Keep an eye out for an announcement about voting, judging, and results!

Nechako Sturgeon Hatchery Tour w/ Fisheries Club

Another year of visiting the Surgeon Hatchery was a success! Our members got a tour of the hatchery as well as a talk from some of the experts there on their work and conservation efforts.

Meet and Greet

We had a great time at another kickoff meet and greet! Pizza, games, and a small presentation from this year’s executive team highlighting the club’s activities. Looking forward to a great year ahead!

Shane Lake BBQ w/ Outdoors, Forestry, and Fisheries Clubs

In collaboration with some of the other FE clubs, we had a great kickoff event out at Shane Lake. Getting to know each other around the campfire with some hotdogs, we had so much fun!

Bird Banding
September 6-7 and 13-14

A huge thank you to the Mackenzie Nature Observatory for once again welcoming our members to their Mugaha Marsh Bird Banding Station! We had two groups go out on to learn all about different bird banding techniques. Banding songbirds during the day and owls at night, it was an awesome time!
